Egyptian Cotton
|
What is Egyptian Cotton? So many people
singing it's praises, yet when you ask for Egyptian cotton they show you
Bed Linens... Egyptian cotton is a
general classification for the strong, lustrous, long staple cotton
produced mainly in the Nile River Valley. The fibers average 1-1/8 to
1-1/2 inches long. The fibers are fine and vary from a light cream to a
dark tan in color. Egypt is the world's largest producer of better quality
cottons. |

Egyptian cotton is a rare, long-fibered cotton
that is spun into a fine yarn. The result is a very lightweight,
fast-drying soft, yet durable fabric. Products made of Egyptian cotton are
substantially lighter and more compact than those made of cotton. This is
a good compromise between regular cotton and silk! |
